Fingerprint Time & Attendance

1. What are the advantages of Fingerprint Time & Attendance compared with the Time & Attendance recorder using a password or a card?

The Fingerprint Time& Attendance can most accurately record the time and attendance of the staff.

In the Time &Attendance systems which using a password or a card (IC card, ID card), fake records of the time may occur if a person lends his card to another or tells him his password. But the Fingerprint Time &Attendance never permits any fake record because of authentication of the identity by fingerprints.

And with the Time &Attendance that using a password or a card, a person, who has lost his card or forgotten his password, refuses to have his time recorded. But in the system using the Fingerprint Time &Attendance, a person has his time recorded by means of his fingerprints and so it is convenient to use without any anxiety to lose his card or to forget his password.

2. What are the advantages of the off-line Fingerprint Time Tttendance recorder compared with the on-line Fingerprint Time and attendance recorder?

The introduction of the on-line fingerprint time & attendance recorder in management of time and attendance of the staff causes decrease of efficiency of using a computer, because a computer has to be used all the time for the management.

But the off-line fingerprint time & attendance recorder automatically records the time in its memory without using a computer. And at a necessary time, you can work out the statistics and view the record data in accordance with time or a person with composition and print of the report.

The off-line fingerprint time & attendance recorder is appropriate to use in the organs with not many staff and is cheaper than the on-line fingerprint time & attendance recorder.

3. In which mode does the Fingerprint Time& Attendance enroll the time and attendance of the staff?

It is not a verification mode by a card or password. The Fingerprint Time & Attendance verifies the identify of person and automatically records his time and attendance, when he puts his finger registered already in the machine on the fingerprint sensor.  And his enrollment No (ID No) is showed on the LCD or there is a sound when his record is successful.

4. How many persons can be registered in the Fingerprint Time & Attendance?

The capacity of 3000 fingerprints is default (10,000 and 30,000 fingerprints are for optional). 3000 (or 10000 or 30000) persons can be registered when Fingerprint Time & Attendance is solely used. The company that has over 3,000 staff may use several Fingerprint Time & Attendance.

5. What can the users of the Fingerprint Time and Attendance be classified into?

The users of the Fingerprint Time & Attendance can be classified into a Supervisor and a General user.

A General user can only have his data registered, but he cannot administrate the Fingerprint Time & Attendance.

A Supervisor is a person who can administrate the Fingerprint Time & Attendance recorder. In other words, he can enroll a new general user, delete or view the recorded data and set the functions of the Fingerprint Time & Attendance.

6. What sort of service functions does the Fingerprint Time & Attendance have in it?

The off-line Fingerprint Time & Attendance has functions of data management, machine setup and system information view in a large degree.

The function of data management includes functions of user enrolment, supervisor enrolment, the registered data delete, views of general record and super record and the entire record data delete.

The function of machine setup is largely divided into system setup, record setup and communication setup.

The function of system setup includes functions of setting the number of a supervisor, setting a machine No for discrimination of the machines when connecting them via the network, setting the current time, date and day of week when the enrollees come in and out, setting a language on the LCD, controlling the gate for access control by the Time & Attendance recorder and auto-turnoff of the power supply for its effective use.

The function of record setup includes functions of setting super record overflow alarm, setting general record overflow alarm and setting repeated time check.

The function of communication setup includes functions of setting the speed of the communication between the machines when connecting them via the network and, setting parity check and setting stop bit.

The function of system information view includes functions of views of the quantity of the registered users and supervisors, that of the registered fingerprints and passwords and that of general record and super record data.

7. How can we apply the Fingerprint Time & Attendance when there are many places where the staff have their time recorded?

You can install the Fingerprint Time & Attendance in each of the places and connect them via the RS485 network.

8. What sort of power supply does the Fingerprint Time& Attendance use?

The Fingerprint Time & Attendance uses an AC power supply (voltage: 180V ~ 240V, frequency: 50Hz ~ 60Hz). The Fingerprint Time & Attendance has a power supply auto-turnoff function for its effective use.

The function automatically breaks off the power supply unless there is any operation on the Time & Attendance within the set time.

9. What sorts of data are recorded in the Fingerprint Time &Attendance?

The staff enrolment data, general record data and super record data are recorded in the Fingerprint Time & Attendance.

The staff enrolment data account for ones in which the fingerprints and passwords of the staff registered in the machine are recorded for registration of their time and attendance.

The general record data mean ones in which the time and attendance of the staff are recorded, and the super record data ones in which the operations of the supervisor are recorded.

10. What shall we do to view the record data of the staff, to work out the statistics and to make out and print the report by connecting the Fingerprint Time & Attendance with a computer?

You can use the Time & Attendance system program with the off-line Fingerprint Time & Attendance.

11. In which style does the Fingerprint Time & Attendance record the time and attendance of the staff?

The Fingerprint Time & Attendance automatically save in its memory the enrolment number, the attendance or leaving time and date and the means (fingerprint or password) used for registration.

12. What can the operating state of the Fingerprint Time & Attendance be divided into?

The operating state of the Fingerprint Time & Attendance can be divided into the state of the time and attendance, that of management operation and that of time and attendance halt.

The state of time and attendance is a state in which the Fingerprint Time & Attendance is in use, and in this state the identity of the enrollee is verified and he has his time recorded via the match of his fingerprint or password with those registered already in the machine.

The state of management operation means a state in which registration of a user, modification and delete of the enrolment data, setup of the machines and view of the system information are carried out.

To enter into the state of management operation, the supervisor’s fingerprints must be authenticated before it when there is a supervisor registered already in the machine, but when there is no one registered, any users can get into the state.

The state of time and attendance halt is a state which does not permit any operation. It depends only on the operation of the supervising computer to get into this state or not.

13. How can the general users know their current registration state via the Fingerprint Time & Attendance?

The Fingerprint Time & Attendance shows the enrolment No (ID No) of a general user on the LCD and emits a sound “bee-” when his record is successful, whereas there is a sound “bee-, bee-, bee-” when his record is unsuccessful because of failure to authenticate him.

14. Where and how can the Fingerprint Time Recording be installed?

The Fingerprint Time & Attendance can be installed in the places free from a direct ray of light.

15. What do the FAR and the FRR mean in the Fingerprint Time & Attendance?

The FAR (False Accepting Rate) means a probability at which the persons who have not had their fingerprints or passwords registered in the Fingerprint Time & Attendance might have their time and attendance recorded in the machine.

The FRR (False Rejecting Rate) means a probability at which the persons who have already had their fingerprints or passwords in the Fingerprint Time & Attendance might fail to have their time and attendance recorded in the machine.

16. Is it possible to prevent the general users from managing and operating the Fingerprint Time & Attendance?

Our Fingerprint Time & Attendance registers the supervisor in the machine and does not permit setting, managing and viewing the machine until having verified his fingerprints for the supervisor alone to manage it.

17. Can the enrollee with some part of his finger injured have his time recorded?

Our Fingerprint Time & Attendance can realize a duplex registration of three fingerprints at most of an enrollee on his enrolment No so that he can have his time recorded even if he may have one of his fingers injured.

Therefore, the enrollee can have his time recorded, using another finger registered in spite of one of his registered fingers injured. If it is inevitably impossible to carry out the record by fingerprints, the supervisor can decide to use passwords.

18. Is it possible for the enrollee with his fingerprints registered in a place to have his time recorded in the machine in another place when the off-line Fingerprint Time Recorder are connected via the network? And what shall we do to do so?

It is possible. To do so, the supervising computer must read the enrolment data of the enrollee from the machine where he had his fingerprints registered and transfer them into the other machines connected via the network after connection of the off-line Fingerprint Time & Attendance with the supervising computer via the RS485 network. Therefore, an enrollee can have his time recorded in the machine in any of the places without any more registration of his fingerprints after having had them registered in one of the places.
